WE MADE THE COVER! (May 2006)
Wow! Cathy Herholdt of The Journal papers wrote a fabulous article about us and it made the cover of the May issue. Get a PDF version here or go see it at the Journal website. Thanks for the great words Cathy!

MAMA SAID (April 2006)
Oh, we love Alison Krupnick, a fellow mom and writer who thought we we're interesting enough to do a story about us, and submitted it to Austin Mama earlier this year. They liked it, we liked it and now we finally have a little Kegel Press to brag about! Thanks a million, Alison!

"TOTALLY EFFACED" RELEASED 10/8/05!
That's right, after months of intense labor, our first EP, "Totally Effaced," was born Wednesday, October 5th, 2:34PM, 3.2 ounces & 5.5 inches! We practically kissed the UPS man as he unloaded our 1000 CDs.

You can buy the CD here at our website store or you can support your local music store (and save on shipping) by popping on down to Sonic Boom in Ballard or Fremont. Of course, you can always buy a copy directly from your favorite Kegel. The Subaru Legacy and the Dodge Caravan will always have a few CDs ready and waiting for you. Hell, even the corporate whore's Audi A4 might have a couple!

And here's a huge THANK YOU to all who attended the record release party at the Highliner... and ate cake! You truly made it a night to remember!

MARTY DOES HIS KEGELS! (Summer 2005)
Did you hear us on The Mountain 103.7 FM? Marty Riemer got a hold of our demo and has played “Mini-Van Mom” several times after the 5:20 Funny! Send him an email (mriemer@kmtt.com) if you'd like to hear it for yourself. When the CD was released, we hand delivered it to Marty along with some fresh-baked goodies. Thanks so much, Marty, for liking our fun little song and for doing your kegels! www.kmtt.com

HOW MANY KEGELS HAVE THERE BEEN? (8/1/05)
Let’s see… if we count everyone, there’s Penny, Jen, Deanr, Liz, Beth, Jane, Terri, Jonr, Jen Fox, Leslie, Katharine, Amy and Jim makes thirteen! And yet, we’ve always been a trio? Well, that’s thanks to all the drummers that came in to help us out after Beth split. First, there was Jane Hall, an incredible, multi-talented percussionist with the Opossum Wranglers. She played with us at Spot’s Chai House in April 2005 after only two weeks of practice. Her then boyfriend, now husband, Darko, recorded this gig, so keep your eyes open for a bootleg in 2007. Next, came Terri Moeller, of The Walkabouts and Transmissionary Six. She played with us at the Sunset Tavern in April for their Chix with Stix showcase, and also came into the studio with us in June. Her years of experience and unparalleled chops made us sound better than we are! Our last sub was Jon Hyde, a close friend and an extremely talented multi-instrumentalist who stepped in and rescued us at his Kegel debut at the Highliner in June 2005. He has played with several groups over the years including Rock, Paper, Scissors, Transmissionary Six, Mount Analog, Jesse Sykes, and Terry Lee Hale. To learn more about Jon and his latest project, The Jon Hyde band, visit www.conjunctiverecords.com. Last and far from least, Jim Wood is THE MAN and serving his ladies quite nicely, thank you very much. Everyone says we should have a mommy drummer, but as long as Jim is willing to wear a skirt and kick some serious percussion butt, we're keeping him.
